She was predeceased by: her husband Arthur S. Podulka; and her son Mark Sarate. She is survived by: her children, Steven S. Sarate (Sheri), Richard Sarate (Kim) and Stacey J. Heck; her grandchildren, Christopher Sarate (Gabriel), Justin Sarate (Hillary), Stephanie Austin (Glen), Hunter White, Kyle Sarate, Kolton Sarate and Connor Heck; her sister Corrine Merrick (Terry); her niece Lisa Hernandez; and her nephew Brian Merrick. She is also survived by several great grandchildren and many caring friends.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
