With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Clayborne Cheek Jr. of Higgins Lake, Michigan, born in Plainfield, New Jersey, who passed away on September 19, 2023 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clayborne Cheek Sr. and Helen Adele Armstrong Cheek; his sister Mary Cheek Gustafson; and his son William Lawrence. He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Elsie Schmidt; his brother Paul; his daughters, Linda Susan Vine (John) and Patricia Ann Doyle; and his grandchildren, John Doyle, Justin Doyle (Stephanie), Amy Doyle, Lisa Vine Newstead (Jeff) and Cody Vine (Angela).
That willingness to help became a commitment as he was Lorraine's caretaker for six years following her Alzheimer's diagnosis in 2018 until March of this year.
