With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Philip Flater of Hesperia, Michigan, born in Hastings, Michigan, who passed away on May 7, 2021 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Hiram Flater and Charlotte Flater (Berends); and his brother Theodore Flater. He is survived by: his wife Joan (Hebestreit); his sons, Hiram Flater (Melissa), Philip Flater (Jennifer) and Jonathan Flater (Jessica); his grandchildren, Halie, Payton Flater, Cayla Flater, Cameron Flater, Ellie Gibson, Jack Gibson, Charlotte Flater and Everly Flater; and his siblings, James Flater (Jude), Roger Flater, Zona Pfenning, Sr. (Fred) and Lois Flater. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
