He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gerdes and Christine Gerdes; his brother Paul Gerdes; and his sister-in-law Karen Gerdes. He is survived by: his spouse Anna Lee Fox; his children, Daniel Gerdes (Shelly) of Fremont, Christine Koch (Todd) of White Cloud, Susan Dykman (Paul) of Rothbury and Jayne Hamilton (Lonnie) of Hesperia; his grandchildren, Jack Gerdes, Gina Gerdes, Mark Walters, Jeremy Quinn, Jared Quinn, Julie Burrell, Todd Koch II, Frank Koch, Tammy James, Todd Dykman, Misty Story, Aaron Dykman, Brooke Moore, Jason Hamilton, Terryl Hamilton and Nickie Lloyd; his siblings, Raymond Gerdes of Greenville, John Gerdes (Carla) of Florida, David Gerdes (Carolyn) of Muskegon, Mary Nyman (Tom) of Twin Lake, Clara Gerdes Greenberg (Kenneth) of California, Anna West (Frank) of Stanton, Andrew Gerdes (Linda) of East Lansing and Ruth Jennings (Paul) of Whitehall; and his sister-in-law Janet Gerdes of Arizona. He is also survived by 37 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren.
