She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Shaffer and Grace Shaffer (Sanner). She is survived by: her husband Dale Freitag; her son Aaron Perry (Laura); her grandchildren, Orion and Salem; her stepson Kyle Slocum; her stepgranddaughter Kynzlie; and her brother Bill Shaffer (Kathy).

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Planned Parenthood.
