He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Smith and Mary Smith (Slater); and his siblings, Lottie Reo and Virgil Smith. He is survived by: his wife Vergeline Pearl; his children, Yvonne Isherwood (Robert), David Smith (AnneMarie), Dean Olsen, Rose Olsen, Joyce Langerfeld (Kevin) and Rodney Olsen (Liz); his grandchildren, Nickolas, Dale, Kyle, Joseph, Andrea, Kevin and Alex; his great grandchildren, Codey, EmmaLee and Logan; his siblings, Martha Morrison (Charles), Gerald Smith and Robert Smith; and his brother-in-law James Reo.
Interment: King Settlement Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Alpena VFW Post 2496.
