He was predeceased by : his child Shada Sakheria (Raad); his parents, Suleiman Salem and Amina Salem; his siblings, Wardiya Jamil (Sabah), Hermiz Salem (Amira), Sabriya Salem, Sabri Salem (Anne), Steve Salem, Hikmat Salem (Eman) and Basima Kattoula (Mike); and his parents-in-law, Aziz and Mary Dooda (Jamil).

He is survived by : his spouse Samira Salem; his daughter Nada Sarkis (Nasri); his grandchildren, Jasmine Sarkis, Justin Sarkis, Jonathan Sakheria and Joseph Sakheria; his siblings, George Salem (Souhaila), Johnny Salem (Nadia) and Ahlam Salem; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Dooda, Basima Esakhi, Hayfa Kakos, Ikhlas Mansour, Muntaha Bashi and Lamia Yousif.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Chaldean Catholic Church (2442 E Big Beaver Rd, Troy, MI 48030). A burial was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the White Chapel Cemetery (621 W Long Lake Rd, Troy, MI 48098).
