Elmer R. Liimatta Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 31, 2023, at the age of 91, Elmer R. Liimatta of Hazel Park, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, Wesley, Wilho Ronald and Dorothy; his niece Jennifer; and his parents, Francis Ainard and Mamie E. Liimatta (Peterson).
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Liimatta; his sons, Daniel, Jeffrey, Steven, Kevin and Mark; his sister Betty Ann Schmehl; his niece Kathy; and his nephews, Robert and Michael. He is also survived by numerous other cousins and their family.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family would encourage donations to Zion Lutheran Church—Camp Lahti, in Hancock, Michigan, the Inter-Lutheran Theological Seminary in Hancock, Michigan, or the Copper Country Habitat for Humanity, also in Hancock.
