He was predeceased by: his parents, Orno L. Knowles and Lorna I. Knowles (Lipscomb); and his sister Myrna Handley (Jenny) of Concord, California.. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Ann Pennock of Nashville; his children, David R. (Linda) of Alto, Larry D. (Karen) of Middleville and Karen M. Hughes (Patrick) of Lacey, Washington; and his sister Donna McCarthy of LaMarque. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Yankee Springs Veterans Memorial, c/o Yankee Springs Township/Veteran's Memorial Fund, 284 N. Briggs Road, Middleville, MI 49333.Lauer Family Funeral Home 1401 N. Broadway in Hastings has been entrusted to care for the family.
