He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Whidden and June Whidden; his wife Sheila Black Whidden (Brown); and his siblings, Charles Robert Whidden and Lisa Lorraine Whidden (Sheila).
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Darla Bloom (Scott), Deana Brownlow (John), Darrell Black (Tina Echelbarger), Ken Black (Kathleen) and Col. Bill Black (Kimberly). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
