He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Winey and Edna Winey; and his sister Nancy Cunningham. He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Crosby (Cam) and Charlene Hull (Mike); his grandchildren, Tiffany Crosby (Andrew Wiley), Anthony Hull (Haley), Emily Hull and Anna (Christopher Jaroch); and his brother-in-law Gary VandeCar (Sue).

Memorials are suggested to the Lake Odessa Historical Society in Elmer's name.
