He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Harlen and Mildred Letha Shade (Haynes); his former wife Margaret Lois Shumaker; his siblings, Robert Hill, Frances Johnston, Gerald Shade (Brandon), Letha Reese, Marvin Shade, Karolyn Stalter, Gene Shade and Linda Stidham; his sons, Mark and David Shade; and his grandsons, Benjamin and Chad Shade.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Birman; his stepchildren, Rick Charles, Mellissa Kay and Johnny Allen Birman; his sisters, Sherrie Wacha and Marceline Sisler; and his sisters-in-law, Pearl Shade (Piper) and Trudy Shade (Weaver). He is also survived by five children, thirteen grand children, eleven great grand children.
