He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Shaffer and Vernie Catherine Shaffer. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Ann Shaffer; his sons, Karl D. (Joanne) and Donald H. Shaffer (Valerie); and his grandchildren, Dorianne Shaffer-Meineke (Eric), Jeannette, Kathryn, David, Elizabeth, Rachel and Kevin Shaffer.
