He was predeceased by: his parents, Hildred Hesterly and Charles Hesterly; and his siblings, Virginia Tousley, Doris Blair, Verdon Hesterly and Herbert Hesterly.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Hesterly (Martin); his sons, Mark Hesterly (Julie) and Jeff Hesterly (Pam); and his brother Ron Hesterly (Mary). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren.
