We are sad to announce that on July 19, 2021, at the age of 76, Helen Griswold Shipley in Haslett, Michigan, born in Oil City, Pennsylvania passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Helen Griswold Shipley to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her friends, Hobie Cat and Chinese; her parents, Robert F. Weingard and Katherine Weingard; her brother John Weingard; and her pets, Meagan Marie, Melissa Marie and Saba.

She is survived by: her daughters, Kristen Dawson (Scott) of Cincinnati and Barb Groom (Patrick) of Dewitt; her grandchildren, Olivia, Sophia, Christopher Dawson, Samuel and Claire Groom; and her siblings, Robert Weingard (Joann) of Pittsburgh and Barbara Spratt (John) of Charlotte. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and good friends.

Despite a hard year of isolation due to COVID-19, Helen somehow still felt connected.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Haslett Schools in Helen's name.
