He was predeceased by: his wife Jackie. He is survived by: his daughters, Dr. Patricia Garrity of Chester, VA and Kimberly Harber (Daniel) of Harrisville, MI; and his grandchildren, Lauren Kittleson (Kyle) and Daniel Harber. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

He concluded his career with 13 years of service to the MacArthur Foundation, retiring in 1993.
