He was predeceased by: his parents, Grant Pierce and Dorothy Pierce (Hervela). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Shields; his children, Britt Pierce and Lance Pierce (Cara); his granddaughters, Sydney Pierce (Josh Freese), Marin Pierce and Aila Pierce; his sister Diana Kauffmann (Gary); and his sisters-in-law, Diane Matsumoto, Iris Lancaster and Noreen Eiss (Harry). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Alcona Humane Society.
