It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Howard Scherrer of Harrison, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on May 12, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Francis Scherrer and Dorothy Eleanor Scherrer (Young); his brothers, Donald Scherrer and Vernon Scherrer; his grandchildren, Genevieve Sweeney and Benjamin Green; and his brother-in-law Sam Moceri.

He is survived by: his children, Susan Scherrer, Donald Scherrer (Chris), Michael Scherrer (Sandy) and Linda Scherrer; his grandchildren, Samantha Green, Gabriel Sweeney, Thomas Krocker, Adam Scherrer, Steven Scherrer and Jessica Scherrer; his great grandchildren, Hannah Green, Liberty Green, Megan Green, Georgia Green, Justin Widener, Jasper Widener, Gage Sweeney, Lillian Krocker and Aden Krocker; his sisters, Kathy Moceri and Fran Kondek (Ted); and his sister-in-law Bonnie Scherrer.
