He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Albert Hoeft and Irene Hoeft; his children, Elly Smyczynski (Tom), Mike Hoeft (Collette), Carl Hoeft (Caren), John Hoeft and Sue Hoeft; his stepchildren, Cristie Brown and Kim Frank (Chris); and his sisters, Rita Selke and Jewel Stanley. He was also cherished by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Gladwin or Compassus Hospice.
