With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald Lawrence Bates of Harrison Township, Michigan, born in Mount Clemens, Michigan, who passed away on September 24, 2022 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Bates and Lydia Bates (Charbeneau); his wife Georgia Kassuba; his brothers, Harry (Hope Bates), Richard (Beatrice Bates) and Thomas (Constance Bates); and his siblings-in-law, Robert Gualdoni and Jacqueline Bates.
He is survived by: his children, Suzette Kattula (Raphael) of Sterling Heights and Gerald L. Bates II of Florida; his grandchildren, Kristina Short (Terry), Kyle Kattula (Sandra) and Kayla VanFleteren (Jason); his great grandchildren, Mila, Sloane, Sofia, Ella, Bekham, Carter and Brooks; and his siblings, Donna Gualdoni and William Bates. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
