He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Hennessy and Margaret Hennessy; his siblings, Thomas (Christine), Robert (Alice), John and Margaret Syska; and his stepchildren, Terry Lutz and Michelle Lezotte.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy Lynne; his children, Donald J. Hennessy and Kelly McDivitt (Lori McComsey); his sister Sherry Plevretes (George); his stepchildren, Lois Silveri (John) and Kyle Weishaupt (Allison); and his grandchildren, Theresa Reedy, Bryan Silveri, Lara Silveri, Danielle Fairchild and Thomas Weishaupt. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
