He was predeceased by: his brothers, Roger and Edward Schmidt; and also, Ervin F. "Jim" Schmidt and Margaret Esther Rivard Schmidt. He is survived by: his sons, Michael Schmidt, Jeremy Schmidt (Kelly) and Gregory Schmidt; his siblings, Daniel "Spark" Schmidt (Carolyn) and Charlene Morris (Harry); his fiancée Sheila Edie; and his fiancée's daughters, Elise, Keri and Melissa. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
