He is survived by: his wife Debra Kay Simerson of Harrietta; his children, Matthew Simerson (Jennifer) of Shoreline, WA., Sharolyn Garcia (Juan), Rebecca Telgenhoff (Richard Mark) of Zeeland and Martha Crawford (Keith) of Kenai, AK.; his stepsons, Scott Olin (Lindsey) of Mt. Pleasant, Nathan Olin (Tamera) of Kingsley and Dan Olin (Michelle) of Traverse City; his adoptive children, Paul Searson (Alexa) of Grayling, Tiffany Awrey Simerson of Kenai, AK, Heather Weber (Andrew) of Palmer, AK and Jovon Simerson of Boyne Falls; and his brothers, Lawrence E. Simerson of Clarksburg, WV, Everett L. Simerson (Bobby Fae) of Metter, GA and Chuck Simerson (Sheila) of Cadillac. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
