He is survived by: his wife Patricia Donelson Cate; his children, Robert Cate (Catherine) and Julie Zenas (Jeffrey); his daughter-in-law Maggie Cate; his grandchildren, Allison Cate, Ann Stitzel (Steven), Mary Cate, Christopher Cate, Stephen Zenas (Elizabeth), Gregory Zenas, Lauren Siciliano (John) and Eric Cate; and his siblings, Helen Corl and Thomas Cate.
