She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Byard and Juanita Byard (Falor); her in-laws, William and Florence Spierling; her husband Ernest Spierling; her sister Edna Rosebaum; and her siblings-in-law, Billy Spierling (Faith), Don Spierling (Ella) and Ann Spierling.

She is survived by: her children, Ernest Spierling Jr. (Anne), Ann Readmond (Jim), Lyle Spierling (Cindy), Gale Spierling (Denny), Craig Spierling (Kathy) and Beth Hoffman (Don); her siblings, Pauline Steele, Philip Byard (Leona) and Jerry Herscher; and her sister-in-law Bonnie Schosser (Don). She is also survived by 11 Grandchildren; 3 Step-Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; 7 Step great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home (302 S Huron St, Cheboygan, MI 49721).
