He was predeceased by: his father Franz Winkel; his siblings, Henry Winkel, Helmuth Winkel, Gerhard Winkel, Gerda Odinga and Ruth Lovejoy; and his nephews, John Odinga and Jesse Lovejoy (Skip).
He is survived by: his nephew Michael Odinga (Ardith) of Texas; and his nieces, Mary Jo Lovejoy of Harbor Beach, Lori Lovejoy (Pat Banker) of Harbor Beach, Geri Lochrie (Ed) of Harbor Beach and Pattie Braun (Jeff) of Bad Axe.
