She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Alex and Edith Burkhard, Sr. (Gerstenschlager); her children, Lou Buchanan (Don) of Phoenix, AZ, Steven Smith of Clinton Township, Denise Lapka of Caseville, Jody Baker (Reid) of Jacksonville, FL, Sandy Stepanian (Doug) of Central, Peggy Smith of Kalkaska, Tim Smith of St. Clair Shores and Bill Smith (Dena) of Harbor Beach; her son-in-law Mike Daugherty of Bellaire; her siblings, Alex Burkhard, Jr. of Bad Axe and Beverly Forstner of Durand; her sisters-in-law, Betty Burkhard of Bad Axe, Dorothy Burkhard of Harbor Beach and Grace Burkhard of Lansing; her daughter Tina Daugherty; her grandsons, Zachary Smith, Alex Smith and William Payionk; her daughter-in-law Virginia Smith; and her siblings, Leslie Burkhard, Robert Burkhard, Elaine LaBelle, Roland Burkhard, Harold Burkhard, Harley Burkhard, Edwin Burkhard, Carl Burkhard and Delbert Burkhard. She was also cherished by 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church.
