He was predeceased by: his parents, Vinal Akerman and Delilah Akerman (Gaw); his wife Barbara Jane Ackerman; his sisters, Joyce Doenges and Carolyn Geething; and his sons-in-law, Ray Dodd, Doc Howe and Butch Lyons.
He is survived by: his daughters, Connie Howe (late Doc), Colette Lyons (late Butch) and Annette Wellman (Denny); his grandchildren, Dawn Green (Rob), Laurie Nevins (Randy), Lynette Carr (Todd Wildt), Kerry Redman, Richie Betts, Aaron Dodd (Libbi) and Jeff Dodd (Lauren); and his sisters, Christine Ackerman and Sandy Brown (Tom). He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; six step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren.
