He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy S. L. Kokko; his daughter-in-law Deborah; and his grandson Brandon Olson. He is survived by: his brothers-in-law, Matt and George Kokko; his friend Lou Hanke; and his children, Thomas R. Olson Jr. (late Deborah) of Seminole, FL, Michael H. Olson of Hancock, MI and Brian D. Olson (Cynthia) of Pelkie, MI. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was united in marriage to Nancy S. L. Kokko on July 16, 1960 and was married for 58 years before her passing on February 1, 2019 from Alzheimer's disease she battled for 8 years.
