It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxine Ann Coon of Hancock, Michigan, born in Vulcan, Michigan, who passed away on February 7, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Ries and Jessie Ries (Blommaert); her daughter Jaye; and her brothers, Calvin Ries (Eileen) and Irving (Audre).
She is survived by: her husband Jay Bernard Coon (Bernie); her children, Cynthia Wageman (Steve) of Gillette, Gretchen Kristola (Jay) of Calumet, Kathleen Marino (Joe) of Houghton, Jean Coon of Novi and Michael Coon (Amy) of Hancock, Michigan; her grandchildren, Ian Kronberg, Jill Kronberg (Ryan Johnson), Jesse Bourgo, Jamie Bourgo (Tyler Jansen), Patric Peters, Alek Kristola (Dana), Miaken Tseitlin (Pasha), Lyndsey Baum (Eric), Cody Marino, Tanja Thomas (Morgan) and Tyler Coon; and her great grandchildren, Elsie Johnson, Clara Borsum, Esmae Borsum, Wyatt Jansen, Isabelle Kristola, Aubry Kristola, Carson Baum and Conrad Baum.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly or the Omega House.
