He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlyle A. Nelson and Thelma Nelson (Ray); and his brother Carlyle Arthur Nelson. He is survived by: his children, Harland, Meredith and Carlyle; his close friend Valerie Kay (Schneider); his wife Valerie (Schneider); his children, Vaughan Nelson (Nadine), Renita (Glenn) of Clarendon Hills, IL and Vanessa (Steve Hupp) of Bensalem, PA; his siblings, Harland Nelson (Frances) of Grovetown, GA and Meredith (Roger) of Manheim, PA; and his grandchildren, Adele, Brendan Nelson, Vivienne and Solomon Saliba. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
