He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Benzie and Mary Benzie (Bianchi); his wife Lois LaFreniere; his daughter Susan Shaw; and his siblings, Caroleen DeDecker (Robert), Warren Benzie and Wallace Benzie (Geraldine).
He is survived by: his children, Richard Benzie of DeWitt, Julie Poquette of Wells, Mary Beth Thoreson (Sam) of Hamilton Lakes and Kris Coronado (Adam) of Pflugerville, TX.; his grandchildren, Craig Nuottila of Calumet, Tim Shaw (Wanita) of Appleton, WI, Megan Shaw-Kwiek (Nick) of Calumet, Cole Thoreson (Chelsea) of Hamilton Lakes, Jill Norcross (Justin) of Grand Rapids, Katie Pollard (Ryan) of Vulcan, Michael Benzie (Cassandra) of Greenville, Justin Poquette (Janel) of Gladstone, Gilbert Coronado (Christie) of Taylor, TX., Amy Coronado of Boston, MA. and Alex Coronado of Denton, TX.; and his sister-in-law Carol Brown (LaFreniere). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
