He was predeceased by: his parents, Joyce Engel (Engel) and Albert E. Engel; and his stepfather Gino Viola. He is survived by: his wife Lydia; his daughter Lisa LaGerould (Chris); his sisters, Beth Cichon (Jeff), Patrice Kelly (Jim) and Jean Commyn (Don Bloomberg); his siblings-in-law, Debby Brauer (Kurt) and Jeff Commyn; and his nieces, Catherine Hunt (Matt), Cristina Geraci (Anthony), Lauren Kelly (Alex Goodson), Maria Commyn (Nate Bazydlo), Marisa Koravesis (Alex) and Cameron Brauer (Megan Ellis).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in Thom's memory to the Dr. Thom Engel Scholarship Fund.
