He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Nahgahgwon and Clara Nahgahgwon (Bennett); his wife Mary Stevens (Nahgahgwon); his children, Leatta Nedwash, Pamela Stevens, Richard Nahgahgwon, Jr. and David Joseph (Nahgahgwon); his siblings, Lawrence Nahgahgwon Jr., Harold Nahgahgwon, Arnold Nahgahgwon, Marlene Garlick and Mildred Nahgahgwon; and his great grandchild Daniel Nedwash.
He is survived by: his children, Amanda Nahgahgwon of Interlochen, MI, Tim Stevens of Hale, MI and Kim Stevens of Bay City, MI; his siblings, Ernie Nahgahgwon (Beverly) of Oscoda, MI, Gerald Nahgahgwon (April) of Bay City, MI, Ethel Lingford of Wisconsin, Viola Nahgahgwon of Tawas City, MI and Laura Schaad of Washington; his grandchildren, Sheri Nedwash, Chris Williams, Tosha Bannister and Greg Hill; his great grandchildren, Joel Nedwash, Samantha Nedwash and River Brumfield; and his nieces and nephews, Kandy Ojeda, Anita N., Marion Joseph and Gilbert Williams.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Oscoda Indian Mission United Methodist Church (7994 Alvin Rd, Mikado, MI 48745). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Oscoda Indian Mission Church (7994 Alvin Rd, Mikado, MI 48745).
