He was predeceased by: his parents, Delore LaChance and Bertha LaChance (Hiironen); his sisters, Bernice Fryczynski (Francis) and Doris "Betty" Zaborowske (Jerry); and his nephews, Willy Zaborowske and Joseph Palade.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Sneed of Gwinn; his son Paul "Chopper" LaChance (Jennifer) of Escanaba; his stepchildren, Sherri Braden (DeWayne) of Fernley, NV and Marc Nixon (Julie) of Provo, UT; his grandchildren, Bon LaChance, Hunter Gasman, Jennifer King, Travis Scott and Kristie Roscoe; and his sister Beverly Palade (Robert). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
