He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Swailes and Gladys Swailes (McBride); his wife Carmena Poglese; and his daughter Pamela Wotherspoon. He is survived by: his children, Larry Swailes (Lori) of Gwinn, Cynthia Morley (Dave) of Sault Ste, Marie, Janice Yager (Dave) of Florida, Steve Swailes (Xan) of Grand Rapids and Chris Swailes (Kim) of Sault Ste; his grandchildren, Lynda Takalo (Tim), April Karki (Richard), Josh Morley, Brian Morley (Ashley), Alicia Wotherspoon (Justin), Jamison, Ean Yager, Olivia, Jake (Elizabeth), Andrew, Sophia, Emma, Liza, Isaiah Swailes, Jessica and Lucas Swailes; his siblings-in-law, Mike Poglese and Eva Babcock; his sister Francis Sedor (Tom); and his niece Pris Swailes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Chippewa County Community Action Senior Meals on Wheels program or the Bayliss Public Library in Sault Ste Marie.
