He was predeceased by: his parents, Violet Rimstad (Tomlinson) and Martin Rimstad; and his sister Janet Elizabeth Maurer. He is survived by: his wife Opal Luvenia Page; his nephew Jeffrey S. Carnes of Syracuse, NY; his great-nieces, Annie Carnes Lape and Emma Carnes Lape of Syracuse; his stepdaughters, Vista Milton of Detroit, Pamela Coleman of Houston and Kimberly Jenkins of San Miguel; and his stepgrandchildren, Anthony Winston of Grosse Pointe and Dominique Williams of Naples. He is also survived by wife's large extended family.
