It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Therese Merry Smigels (Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan), who passed away on January 22, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dorothy Burzynski and Thaddeus Burzynski. She is survived by: her husband John; her siblings, Chris (Jack) and Ted (Diana); her children, Eric, Rachel (Jason), Sarah, Luke (Jill) and Jessica (Andrew); her grandchildren, Annabella, Brieanna, Damien, Evan, Felix, Jacqueline, John, Julia, Lucius and Skylar; and her pet Forest. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236). A rosary was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 6:00 PM. The lying in state was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Joan of Arc Church (21620 Greater Mack Ave, St Clair Shores, MI 48080). A Mass was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
