Roberta Ann McCandless Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Roberta Ann McCandless of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 23, 2024 at the age of 76. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Norman Bielak and Dorothy Bielak; her husband John McCandless; her children, Frank Bomier and Jacqueline Hadwin (Stevel); her stepchildren, Matthew McCandless (Suzie) and Sarah Grace McCandless; her grandchildren, Jack, Tatum Bomier, Frances Bomier, Anna, Ella, Sadie McCandless and Brother Steve Bielak (Nancy); and her sisters, Margaret Moran (Mike) and Karen (Tilli).

Visitation was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236). A rosary was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. The lying in state was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church (21620 Greater Mack Ave, St Clair Shores, MI 48080). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

Memorial contributions can be directed to the rebuilding of The Church of the Ascension, Ft Myers Beach.
