We are sad to announce that on October 27, 2024 we had to say goodbye to Robert F. Vermeulen of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. Though Robert may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Robert touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Vermeulen and Ann Vermeulen; and his brother Bill Vermeulen (Joan). He is survived by: his wife Sally Ann; his daughter Melissa Ampola (Johnny); his grandchildren, Nathan and Peyton; and his siblings, Anne Bente and Alan Vermeulen. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236). A rosary was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. The lying in state was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Our Lady Star of the Sea (467 Fairford Rd, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
