It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Torakis (Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan), born in Cleveland, Ohio, who passed away on September 14, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Spiro Chavel and Efstathia Chavel; her husband George; her son John; and her siblings, Sam and Joan.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Torakis (Linda) and Chrisanne Palmer (Kimon); her grandchildren, Marina, Alex (Nicole) and Alexandra; her great grandchild Galina Marina; and her sister-in-law Dena Chavel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
In lieu of flowers. The family asks for donations to Angies's Residential care who provided loving care to Marie in her final year.
