He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Thomas and Marguerite Johnson; and his stepfather Maurice Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Andrew Thomas, III, Derrick Thomas and Monte Reed, Jr.; his wife Marsha; his sister Karen Johnson of Washington, D. C.; his sisters-in-law, Linda Jones, Cynthia Haynes and Katrina Bowman; his grandchildren, Chase, Courtney, Alaijah and Demoriyae; and his close friend Leroy Graham.
