He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elmer Thams and Evelyn Thams; his wife Joyce Thams; his siblings, Jack Thams (Patricia) and Susan Heeres (Richard); and his children, Scott Thams (Shelly), Sharon Thams Carter (Sam), Kirk Thams (Jana), Keith Thams (Jacqueline), Judy Thams and Eric Thams (Lisa). He was also cherished by his 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
