It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Luiz Eduardo Kahl (Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan), who passed away on September 25, 2021, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his mother Sonia Kahl; his sister Cristiana (Kahl); his brother-in-law Daniel Collins; his brother Gui; his sister-in-law Janet Kahl; and his nephews, Justin, Matthew and Christopher.

He was the executive director of the US-IRC Foundation from 2008-2011 and served as the director of the Southern Ocean Racing Conference beginning in 2007.
