We are sad to announce that on May 19, 2023, at the age of 95, Neil Harris Johnson (Grosse Ile, Michigan) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Johnson (Moriarity); his parents, Harris Johnson and Claire Johnson (Lindbergh); and his sister Shirley Hanson (Johnson). He is survived by: his daughter Leslie Johnson; his nephews, Rick (Lory) and Larry Hanson (Kim); his sister-in-law Marge Moriarity; his brother Dan; his sister-in-law Pat Gaffaney (Moriarity); and his friends, Bill, Billy and Nancy Gruits.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to The Grosse Ile Presbyterian Church, the Salvation Army, or the Penrickton Center for Blind Children.

“Leslie, I will never forget all the great times when we went sailing with your dad. He really taught us something and we had fun! I’ll never forget sailing to Put-in-Bay, Kelly’s Island and Cedar Point. I will also never forget what a trouper he was taking us to see Cheap Trick at Cobo. I’m sure he didn’t particularly enjoy it, but we never knew that. He just wanted to make his little girl happy. Hopefully the sadness and grief will give way to happy memories. Thinking of you.
