She was predeceased by: her parents, Gladys Palmer and Frank Palmer (Don); her daughter Judy Jewell; her siblings, Ralph Palmer and Goldie Godden; and her sister-in-law Marion.
She is survived by: her husband Don; her daughters, Becky Asper of Traverse City, Cheryl Higgins (Bob) of Greenville and Jenny VanHorn (Ike) of Stanton; and her grandchildren, Scott (Liezel Jewell), Teague Higgins, Todd Higgins (Kory), Jennifer Ullery (Mark), Terry Hedger, Jr. (Candace), Vince Hedger, Julia Myers, Tami Piatt, Tim VanHorn, Laurie Clark (Monty) and Suzanne VanHorn Ray (Scott Miller). She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many bowling friends.
Memorial contributions in Virginia's name can be made to the Clay Street Center, an adult day care center in Greenville.
