He was predeceased by: his stepfather Gene Christensen; his stepbrother Tim Christensen; his aunt Ginny; and his uncles, Tom Johnson and Dale Petersen.
He is survived by: his parents, Roger Petersen (Tammy) of Richland and Ann Christensen (Johnson) of Turk Lake; his daughter Breeston Petersen of Ionia; his adoptive daughter Olivia Stanaland of Belding; and his siblings, Elizabeth Richards (Phil), Kristen Fettes (Travis), Melissa Reemer (Rick), Bruce Petersen, Ryan Petersen (Ashley), Trent Christensen (Liza) and Scott Christensen (Amy). He is also survived by five grandchildren.
