He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Leo LaPorte; his grandparents, John Hatfield and Viola Bower; his uncle William Hatfield; and his nephew John L. Jensen.
He is survived by: his mother Carol Marie Hatfield; his brother-in-law Charlie; his daughters, Whitney LaPorte (Seth Tarket) and Lillian Gunnerson; his grandson Kason Tarket; his siblings, Rodger LaPorte, Dawn Lewis (Mike), Eddie LaPorte (Tammy), Yvonne Hard, Billy LaPorte, Michelle Sawdy (Charlie Johnson) and Candy Roller; his niece Tiffany Emelander (Jeremy); and his nephew Aubrey. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Montcalm County Animal Shelter.
