He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Percy Flanagan and Lena Flanagan (Root); his wife Carol Anne Lane of Greenville, MI; his children, Roger Flanagan, Jr. (Gennifer) of Carson City, MI, Scott Flanagan (Heidi) of Ionia, MI and Ann Hansen (Jason) of Grand Rapids, MI; his grandchildren, Bethany, Allison, Abigail, Emily, Carter, Logan and Eleanor; and his sisters, Irene Salmons of Pahrump, NV and Erma Behrns of Lakeview, MI. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
