He was predeceased by: his parents, George Godfrey and Marie Godfrey (Hall); and his siblings, Joyce, Ronald and Glenna.

He is survived by: his wife Nora (Van Hoose); his children, Kelly, Steven (Shelly) and Michael (Beth); his grandchildren, Nathan (Leah), Joel (Jessica), Ava and Lilah; his great grandchild Landon Richard; and his brother Gilbert.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Fighting Falcon Military Museum.
